Ben Hanlin rose to prominence as a YouTube sensation, making the Magic Boy Finds series through his own channel. Using social media to hunt down celebrities, he performed his fresh style of magic to David Hasselhoff, Frank Skinner and Michael McIntyre. It was not long before these adventures caught the attention of TV executives.
But he hasn’t forgot his roots. He currently has over 2.1 million followers online, with almost 3 million YouTube views, and an astounding 35 million likes on TikTok.
After landing a presenting gig on CBBC, he was one of four magicians picked to star in Breaking Magic for the Discovery Channel, a ground-breaking show that looked at the science behind magic and illusions, fusing showmanship and the mystery of street magic with the raw power of science. The show wowed audiences in over 200 global territories.
He has also performed in the West End’s ‘The Illusionists’ and on Live at the Palladium. Since then, he has gained bags of television experience, with his magic featuring on Celebrity Juice (2015), This Morning (2018-20), Good Morning Britain, Soccer AM, Loose Women (2014-20), Blue Peter, Lorraine (2018-20), and The Xtra Factor (2013).
He appeared as a contestant on the 12th series of Dancing on Ice (2020) finishing in fourth place, and was the first magician to win a unanimous ‘yes’ from the Britain’s Got Talent judges.
Ben Hanlin wowed audiences with his eagerly awaited jaw-dropping debut show ‘Trickhead’ at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016 – it ended up being one of the biggest selling shows that year.
