Seeing vast quantities of edible food being thrown away had a lasting impact—reshaping his career path and fuelling his passion for sustainability and social change.
Jamie Crummie | Co-Founding Too Good To Go
In 2016, Jamie co-founded Too Good To Go, a purpose-driven tech platform that helps consumers rescue surplus food from local food businesses—including restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and supermarkets. Through the mobile app, users can purchase unsold food at discounted prices, reducing food waste while enjoying quality meals.
Since its inception, Too Good To Go has grown into a global movement. Now operating in over 19 countries, the platform has built partnerships with more than 175,000 food businesses and attracted over 100 million users, collectively saving upwards of 400 million meals from being wasted.
Under Jamie’s leadership, the company secured major early-stage investment (including €16 million in initial funding) and rapidly scaled across European and international markets. Collaborations with high-profile brands such as M&S, Lidl, and Carrefour have further cemented Too Good To Go’s reputation as a leading voice in sustainable food innovation. Jamie has helped position the company at the intersection of environmental impact and scalable commercial success.
Too Good To Go has been widely recognised for its work, receiving numerous accolades for sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It has been featured by global media outlets including Forbes, The Guardian, and the BBC, and is often held up as a shining example of how technology can be used to tackle some of the world’s biggest environmental challenges.
