Simon Morris’ career started in the gaming world, playing a pivotal role at Sega and contributing to the groundbreaking success of Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequels. This passion for storytelling continued into the media industry during his time at Sky, Autonomy, and Ginger TV Production, developing high-impact marketing strategies. His work in the media and advertising industries has seen him nominated for three Emmy awards for work including his 2020 Christmas advert ‘Ballerina’ and the aforementioned Alexa Super Bowl campaign. He also received a letter of commendation from the Vatican for his 2016 Christmas Amazon advertisement.
In 2004, Simon Morris co-founded LOVEFiLM, a pioneering video rental and streaming service that would go on to serve as the foundation for the now popular Amazon Prime Video platform. This entrepreneurial spirit saw him co-found online football resource Football 365 – and its sister brands Rugby 365 and Music 365 – and become a co-founding investor of Graze. His career has also seen him advise leading global brands including pet food Tails and toy LEGO.
