After graduating from the University of Brighton with a BA Hons in 3D Design, Furniture Design and Manufacturing, Sophie Robinson joined BBC Good Homes magazine as their home editor. Here, she worked with a team of stylists to produce the monthly decorating and shopping pages. Going freelance has allowed Sophie to work across popular magazine titles such as The Daily Mail, The Evening Standard, Good Housekeeping, Grazia, Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, Ideal Home, Livingetc, Real Homes, Red, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Woman and Home, and You Magazine.

Recently, her focus has moved towards her blog and her social media channels – where she currently has almost 250,000 followers – as she continues to inspire and inform people about creating great and original interior design schemes in their homes. She also provides masterclass courses in interior design through her online interior design school, giving people the confidence to discover their own sense of style for their homes.

Sophie regularly presents to live audiences on interior design and decoration and has TV credits across the BBC, ITV and Channel 5. She is best known for judging The Great Interior Design Challenge (2013-2017) on BBC2, as well as Alan Carr’s Interior Design Masters (2018-2023), Dream Home Makeovers With Sophie Robinson (2022), Cowboy Builders (2008-2009), 60 Minute Makeover (2005-2011) and the BBC’s DIY SOS (2016-2019).

In 2018, Sophie began hosting the UK’s leading interiors podcast, The Great Indoors, which has over 120,000 monthly downloads. Guests have included Trinny Woodall, Pearl Lowe, Fearne Cotton, Kelly Hoppen, Rachel Khoo, Annie Sloan, Oliver Heath, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

In 2020, Sophie won the Online Influence Award in Interior Design. Her expertise in the field has meant she has become a popular keynote speaker and event host, providing audiences with amusing, passionate and stimulating anecdotes from her successful career.
